Ps Miles McPherson, Senior Pastor of The Rock Church was with El Cajon Police Chief Jeff Davis calling on citizens for peace and assurance of a fair investigation following yesterday afternoon's fatal police shooting of a black male refugee, after video and reports of the male pointing an object with both hands clasped at an officer while also in what appeared to be a shooting stance.

  One officer fired his taser gun at the man as the officer who the man was pointing at fired his service weapon. According to one witness on the scene, the officer shot five times. Another bystander cellphone videoed the event and offered the video for the police to use. Currently the ECPD has officer body cameras on order and have yet to have them issued. There are reports that the officer who shot the man has already had problems on the force with employee complaints and law suits, and both officers have around 20 years on the force. 
  Pastor Miles McPherson last night and this morning, before the protests began in the streets in El Cajon which have been going on since late morning, had appeared on television and local radio stations calling for the same thing: prayer and calm. Listen to these recordings and you may hear for yourself what the initial statements were from both Ps Miles, and ECPD Chief Davis. 
  Pastor Miles McPherson of Rock Church followed Davis in the press conference and urged members in the community to pray, and to remain peaceful while the facts continue to unfold.
  "We want the truth to come out and the right things to happen, no matter what that means, and we want God to be honored in the process," Rock Church Pastor Miles McPherson said. (Published Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2016)
El Cajon, which is about 15 miles east of San Diego, has a population of about 100,000 and has become a home for many refugees fleeing Iraq and, more recently, Syria.

U.S. Slave Mentality In Turbulent Times

We need to take this country back and all get along once again. Realize all the division and tragedy in our nation the past decade or so is by design from our adversary the devil. The Apostle Paul wrote in Romans 5:20, "Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:" We're not hopeless and helpless as many would believe we are. there is hope, and now is the time to seize what God wants for us all, collectively and individually in our nation and the world.

So concerning the above title, Slave mentality...watch just this one example in the below video clip, of Edward G. Robinson playing the part of the scoffer even though he's a slave too, but he's a slave informant. And that's just like our enemy would like us to be. A bunch of slaves hating each other.






At the time of writing this, there are four locations, all in Louisiana, where the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team are active and present, providing spiritual comfort and care to those who lost much and or everything due to floods.

From the ashes of 9/11, the Rapid Response Team ministry was developed to share Christ in the midst of crisis and disasters. BGEA currently has chaplains in the United States, Australia, Canada and the United Kingdom. These volunteer chaplains are carefully selected and trained to demonstrate the compassion of Jesus Christ and appropriately share God’s hope through the One who “heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds” (Psalm 147:3).

  Recently, the BGRRT Chaplains and Franklin Graham's Samaritan's Purse have been in Texas, also after and during floods, in many other states across the U.S. cleaning, praying and even providing homes for a few. Besides the rest of the world, they were even in Canada after their disastrous forest fires in Alberta. 

  Not only natural disasters, but we also respond after recent mass shootings at schools, malls, and even police ambushes whee police have been murdered in cold blood. 

  I have three reasons for this blog: one is to ask if anyone can help me to continue responding full-time to disasters and tragedies alongside BGRRT and Samaritan's Purse, through which I have been a chaplain since the 2003 San Diego, California wildfires, and have responded to Florida, New Orleans, Shreveport, Groves Texas and again in my home town San Diego during the 2007 fires. Six responses so far.

  Maybe you know somebody who, or you have experienced disasters and having Samaritan's Purse and the BGRRT Chaplains helping you, or even family members who have. If you do or have, then you know exactly what it was like. I'll never forget the many things I've seen and heard from those who experienced loss grief and all that comes with tragedies.

September, 2006. Me on the left with a man we prayed for (middle) and he just received Jesus into his heart with us. This was one year after Hurricane Katrina and Rita, which both hit within a month apart,  St Bernard Parish. The prior year, instead of going to New orleans, I volunteered to go where they felt I would be needed, so they had sent me to Shreveport and Groves, TX. But I was able to go to New Orleans the following year where the needs were still tremendous. So I was privileged to meet this gentleman. This man lost everything the prior year during Hurricane Katrina. Two months before Katrina his wife died of cancer. He came to our tent looking lifeless, without any expression whatsoever. His whole countenance was horrible and hopeless. But the gentleman on the right who was with another organization asked us to pray with him, and afterwards he appeared to be a totally different person with a smile that would not stop. Jesus is so good. The most recent response I attended was Franklin Grahams 13th stop during his Decision America Tour, which he is visiting all 50 State capital buildings to pray for America. At the time of this blog, there are six more Capitals to visit, and lansing, Michigan, is the next stop October 4, 2016.

  In order to make America a better place, we need to literally be the person we want others to see; and not only that, but to want to be that person, personally. It's really individually in which we need to clean up our act, before collectively doing so. We tend to want everyone else to be better in order for ourselves to feel like being better.
  I did an interesting thing after deciding on my title. The thought occurred to me to make an acronym for my book title. So I took the letters, M, A, R, and A from the beginning of the first four words in the book title, "Making America Righteous-Again," to form the acronym, M.A.R.A. . The acronym forms the female name, or a word, meaning "bitterness", with Hebrew origins. A lake in the wilderness from the book of Exodus was named Mara, because it was a bitter water. But God told Moses to throw a stick in the water. So Moses had thrown a stick in the water and the water became sweet! 
  In the book of Ruth, Naomi told the people of Bethlehem, when they recognized who she was, to no longer call her Naomi, but to call her Mara, because God has dealt bitterly with her. But of course Naomi kept her name, which means beautiful, or my delight. That, of course, is how we must be personally, and as a nation. We need to change from bitterness to sweet-again! From bitterness, to a delight-again! Where is the stick that God will have thrown at us, to turn ourselves from bitterness-to-sweet and a delight? Spare the rod, spoil the child! I want my life, and I want my country, to change from bitter, to sweet. From bitterness, to a delight-AGAIN.
  My point throughout this book is to show that righteousness is the means to achieve greatness. Therefore one does not become great in its' desired sense and definition without first becoming righteous. I have compiled over 27 years of studies into the 13 chapters in this book, and I hope you are able to see the unique place we are in, and take up the task and do whatever it takes, to turn from bitterness, to a delight.

CALIFORNIA: (VVNG.com)– The state of California is under an emergency earthquake advisory following a series of small earthquakes that began on Monday near the Salton Sea located in Southern California.

“California is earthquake country. We must always be prepared and not let our guard down,” said Director Mark Ghilarducci. “The threat of an earthquake on the San Andreas Fault hasn’t gone away, so this is another important opportunity for us to revisit our emergency plans and learn what steps you need to take if a significant earthquake hits.”

The California Office of Emergency Services has conferred with the California Earthquake Prediction Evaluation Council (CEPEC) about this seismic region’s history and potential. Based on these discussions, the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services advises the counties of:

• Imperial
• Kern
• Los Angeles
• Orange
• Riverside
• San Bernardino
• San Diego
• Ventura

CEPEC believes that stresses associated with this earthquake swarm may increase the probability of a major earthquake on the San Andreas Fault to values between 0.03 percent and 1.0 percent of an additional earthquake as large or larger than the September 26 magnitude 4.3 earthquake occurring over the next 7 days, until Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at 9:00am.

On Thursday, September 29th Governor Brown signed legislation – SB 438 by Senator Jerry Hill (D-San Mateo) to help advance the development of a statewide earthquake early warning system in California.

“We’ve seen the devastation earthquakes have caused in California,” said Governor Brown. “This keeps us on track to build a statewide warning system that can potentially save lives.”

SB 438 establishes the California Earthquake Early Warning Program and Advisory Board within the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) to advance the implementation of the program and spur further investment in the early warning system. Under the legislation, an Earthquake Early Warning Program business plan will be developed and submitted to the Legislature by February 1, 2018.

“The early earthquake warning system will help save lives,” said Senator Hill. “In emergencies, every second counts and the urgent alerts that will be sent by the warning system can help prevent devastating and life-threatening missteps. Californians will be safer thanks to Governor Brown, his Office of Emergency Services, my colleagues in the Legislature who have supported SB 438, and the many public and private partners working on the early warning system.”

Local emergency management, government, schools and the public should review their earthquake preparedness plans, maintain awareness and be prepared to take action should the earthquake occur. Key actions should be:

• Drop, cover and hold on
• If driving pull to side of road and stop until shaking stops.
• Do not stop or take cover under over passes or bridges
• If you smell gas, evacuate the area
• Do not handle or drive over downed power lines

Nearly 200 small earthquakes — including three of a magnitude greater than 4 — struck the Salton Sea area over the last day or so.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the swarm of quakes started early Monday morning and continued into the evening. Quakes measuring 4.3 and 4.2 magnitude occurred Monday night.  Nine of the quakes measure greater than 3.0.

Many of the quakes were centered near Bombay Beach. They were felt in a relatively small area around the Salton Sea, according to the USGS.

Swarms of small to moderate earthquakes are fairly common in the area. In 2009, the Salton Sea saw a swarm of more than 200 small quakes.

The sea sits atop a very thin crust that is being constantly stretched as the North American and Pacific plates grind against each other. The area is also veined by dozens of faults — most notably the San Andreeas -- that run parallel to and crisscross one another.

Scientists believe that because of the thinness of the crust, hotter material can get closer to the surface and cause temblors.

Seismologist Lucy Jones said on Twitter on Monday night that magnitude 4 quakes near the San Andreas “increase the chance” of a big quake “a little bit. But we have swarms without big [earthquakes] — most likely nothing more will happen.”

The quakes continued Tuesday but the size of the temblors were decreasing.

When To Listen To Your Gut (And How To Know When Your Instincts Are Wrong)

This article is first in a series that will go deeper into the points I presented in “How To Be A Collaborative Partner” last week. Today I’ll address the importance of listening to your gut as an entrepreneur. Your gut instinct—and the instinct of your team—is one of your greatest resources.Instinct is invaluable, but not infallible, as I’d like to explain.

Why is gut instinct so valuable? It is priceless primarily because it’s exponentially faster than your logical mind. Science has now demonstratedthe importance of the “somatic markers” that clue you into why something “just feels right” (or it doesn’t) faster than any conscious thought can take hold. The speed of instinct is another one of the reasons body language is such an accurate marker—the body responds to stimulus within a 10^th of a second and reacts with visible signals of dislike, lying, etc., that are difficult or even impossible to hide.

Instinct is a vital survival mechanism that has kept us safe from dangers from the beginning of time. Instincts are also valuable in business in that they demonstrate someone’s instant and unguarded “gut check” to an idea that can be invaluable to a leader or team. It may be the small comment across the table from a John David to a Dusty that indicates how a project might go. Even a partial remark can be meaningful.

Small reactions can mean huge things, and a leader should regard them as such. Hesitation? Fear? Perhaps ramifications you hadn’t thought about, like the sudden need to double customer support to accommodate the great idea you’ve just had? Regard these reactions with the utmost care, as a person’s good feeling or instinctive hesitation could have big implications on how your plan will work out.

Here’s an example of the power of instinct from Lydia Dishman, inFastCompany Magazine, via a researcher named Shabnam Mousavi, an assistant professor at John Hopkins Carey Business School. Mousavi was the lead author of “Risk, Uncertainty, And Heuristics,” a paper that explores the times intuition can be more useful than deliberate calculation.

Mousavi’s premise was that sometimes we muddle our outcomes by bombarding ourselves with too much information. As an example, she quizzed German and U.S. students to see if they could state which city is larger: Detroit or Milwaukee. Despite not being American, the Germans were 90% correct versus only 60% of the American students she asked. Why? Because the Germans simply picked the city they’d heard more about and guessed it would stand to reason it was the larger of the two. They “went with their gut.” Americans, on the other hand, rifled through their mental library of knowledge of the two cities, which got in the way of their reaching for the obvious answer, and they failed.

Why your gut may sometimes get it wrong. Sometimes our instincts betray us. We might hire someone who makes us feel at ease and comfortable and later discover the person is a well-practiced sociopath. We might move in with a roommate or romantic partner we barely know because the friendship felt “right.”

When we let our emotions bear sway without an accompanying cost/benefit andrisk analysis, we might be hurtling down a path that is 100% wrong. In my own life, I can’t remember a time when “putting a gap between the stimuli and the response” has failed to serve me well. Sometimes that gap may be simply standing up and walking a bit before responding. Or it may be a few hours, or you may need to sleep on it. Typically the great idea will become stronger, or you may realize your initial inclination was an emotional response without adequate accompanying intelligence behind it.

When we let our emotions bear sway without an accompanying cost/benefit andrisk analysis, we might be hurtling down a path that is 100% wrong. But everything else gets to wait a few days, or weeks, or just sit on a shelf until the next elections. Or even after the elections when it's too late, but just serves as surplus griping and whining material until something fresh enough to talk about comes up. Well, kudos to all who jumped on this right away. Lets see this action for more things. perhaps we wouldn't be dealing with the current fraud-in-chief right now had more people "in-the-know" been more attentive in the first place. Perhaps we could have avoided his second term. Actually we definitely would have, had all the so called experts came forward with what they definitely did know, ahead of time. I've already blogged about definite cases of several Congressmen, news personalities and other broadcasting personalities releasing information but only after it was too late. But still, lets get on this. Because like the messengers are saying, YOU have plenty of time to call, write or email your representatives to express you opposition to this. There are two things politicians, mainstream media, and wealthy tax-payers are most concerned about. Their own $$MONEY$$, and their PRIVACY. But for most of the rest of us, the two most important things are our family and our health. Let's see this privacy issue response be the same response for the rest of the U.S. Constitutional attacks, ok? Good job, too, Wild Bill, on this next video you just released which has been being discussed by MANY sources for quite a few months already. But without constant action by citizens who are actually concerned, such as Bill, myself and others who still read, write, inform and discuss no matter how much we get scorned by internet trolls, ignored and scoffed at by our own families and friends, and avoided by our own church peers like we're poison, we still do it anyway, sometimes when very exhausted, discouraged and even when sick, and when suddenly something huge like a domestic terror attack occurs and we just finished something totally different and we need to immediately get involved without hesitation. People, you must realize we are not doing this for sport, fun or for our health. We all have jobs, or are out of work, and yet we are still using time somehow to inform and warn our fellow citizens anyway, like myself. We are pleading with you to stop reading and complaining only. But actually look up your representatives and email, write and call them with your concerns. Thank you so much for visiting my blog.
