When Is Suicide OK?

Suicide is never OK. If one has read in any sort of extensity about suicide, the person would learn that suicide goes through the minds of young children, teens, young adults, and on up to whatever ages there are into senior years. Not only is suicide not a respecter of persons in regard to age, intelligence, but the lack thereof, is no factor either.
I would like to say that intelligent, college educated persons are just as capable of making a foolish justification and choice as the rest of us. REMEMBER; Intelligence and wisdom are two completely different things.
Guaranteed, anyone who contemplates suicide all have one thing in common with everyone else alive in the world. That one thing should be celebrated and appreciated more than it is. That thing is called LIFE.
Never mind some popular reasons for quitting. Some main contributors to decisions to quit and "end it all" include, lack of loved-ones, lack of loved ones' sympathies or concern, personal failures or whatever one's definition of failure may be at the moment. Loss of loved ones or relational break-ups and difficulties, financial difficulties and the list goes on. One more thing everyone has in common, is PERCEPTION of what is wrong during a period of our life. How we percieve things often determine our actions and choices. But let me tell you what I, a 48 year old man, and still living, have to say.
I have had every situation on this list of reasons to quit, AND some. Besides my knowledge of my God, and Jesus Christ, I have still questioned everything I have been led to believe is right and wrong throughout my lifetime. When I simply could not understand WHY in certain circumstances, I was left with the knowldedge that it doesn't matter what I THINK: what matters is the head knowledge that I still know the difference between right and wrong, which is as true as the fact that darkness is merely the absense of light.
In conclusion, I'll say that we go through many dark or discouraging times, and sometimes moreso than encouraging times. But I have always evaluated myself and as much of the situations and circumstances around me as possible. And like I say, I've always either learned from the answer to my questions, or ultimately had to make the logical decision to just WAIT and PERSEVERE.
It is my hope and prayer for someone reading this, that you will take these few simple words and be encouraged and persevere through all your challenges in your life. We are all here for a reason and surprisingly, the WHY is often understood and then forgotten, periodically. But we all must continue to remember, and when you can't, WAIT and persevere, and sometimes you will find that the why isn't as important because you are busy living, learning and doing all you can to experience and appreciate what you are experiencing at the time. Now I have included a song from the band, "Third Day", called, "Tunnel" . And here is a link to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, as a start to getting help if you would like to talk with a professional. 1-800-273-TALK  (as a former radio station dj/news director and production manager, I had broadcasting and PSA opportunities with the SPL, and I know it is a great organization.)  And here you can go to the professional site of the lifeline. http://www.suicidepreventionlifeline.org/
